# Sui overview

Triton's Sui infrastructure stack: gRPC, GraphQL, archival, Walrus, Seal, and dedicated nodes.

Triton has run a Sui validator since genesis and provides full-service Sui API access on mainnet and testnet: real-time reads and streaming, flexible structured queries, full history from genesis, and hosted Walrus and Seal infrastructure. Every service authenticates with one token from your [customer dashboard](https://customers.triton.one/).

## Triton stack

We offer full-service Sui access on shared infrastructure, or on a dedicated node provisioned for your workload.

### Shared infrastructure

Every Triton subscription includes every Sui service available on its network.

### Dedicated nodes

* A private Sui node with isolated capacity, a flat monthly price, and gRPC on your own endpoint.
* Rate limits customised to your workload, and your choice of region.
* gRPC streaming unmetered and included in the node price.
* GraphQL, Walrus and Seal are not part of a dedicated node.
* Walrus and Seal are shared services. Dedicated clients use them at pay-as-you-go rates, on top of the node price.
* Archival requests route to the archival endpoints on shared infrastructure.

See [dedicated nodes](/sui/dedicated-nodes.md).

## Networks

| Network | gRPC | GraphQL | Archival gRPC | Walrus | Seal |
| ------- | :--: | :-----: | :-----------: | :----: | :--: |
| Mainnet |   ✓  |    ✓    |       ✓       |    ✓   |   ✓  |
| Testnet |   ✓  |    ✗    |       ✗       |    ✓   |   ✓  |

GraphQL and the Archival service run on mainnet only. On both networks, Triton hosts Walrus publishers, aggregators, and storage nodes.

{% hint style="warning" %}
**Triton no longer serves Sui JSON-RPC.** Sui 1.82 removes the JSON-RPC service from the Sui full node, and Triton runs Sui 1.82 or later on mainnet and testnet. Use [gRPC](/sui/grpc.md) on mainnet or testnet, or [GraphQL](/sui/graphql.md) on mainnet shared infrastructure. For a method-by-method mapping from JSON-RPC, see the official [JSON-RPC Migration Guide](https://docs.sui.io/develop/accessing-data/json-rpc-migration).

Separately, Sui ended the implicit fallback from JSON-RPC to the archival service at the end of September 2026. For history beyond a full node's retention, query Triton's [Archival service](/sui/archival.md) directly.
{% endhint %}

## Choosing an interface

Most production stacks on Sui combine interfaces rather than picking one.

| You need                                                                               | Use                                  |
| -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- | ------------------------------------ |
| Low-latency point lookups, real-time checkpoint streaming, typed clients from `.proto` | [gRPC](/sui/grpc.md)                 |
| Flexible composable queries, filtered historical reads, frontends and dashboards | [GraphQL](/sui/graphql.md) |
| History beyond what a full node retains, from genesis | [Archival service](/sui/archival.md) |

A common pattern is gRPC on the hot path, GraphQL for frontend and analytical reads, and the Archival service for deep history. A full node's gRPC API doesn't fall back to Archival automatically, and GraphQL's filtered queries cover only about the last 30 days, so query Archival directly for older history.

Mysten's [Access Sui data](https://docs.sui.io/develop/accessing-data/data-serving) guide describes these interfaces.

## Connecting

Your endpoint hostname and token are in the [customer dashboard](https://customers.triton.one/). All non-free endpoints authenticate with the `X-Token` header:

```http
X-Token: <your-token>
```

| Interface     | Shared endpoint                                           | Networks         |
| ------------- | --------------------------------------------------------- | ---------------- |
| gRPC          | `<your-endpoint>.<network>.sui.rpcpool.com:443`           | mainnet, testnet |
| GraphQL       | `https://<your-endpoint>.mainnet.sui.rpcpool.com/graphql` | mainnet          |
| Archival gRPC | `archive.mainnet.sui.rpcpool.com:443`                     | mainnet          |

* `<network>` is `mainnet` or `testnet`. Copy the exact hostname from the dashboard.
* Dedicated nodes have their own hostname. See [Dedicated nodes](/sui/dedicated-nodes.md).

{% hint style="info" %}
Evaluating before you sign up? A free, rate-limited mainnet endpoint is available for testing with no token: `mainnet.sui.rpcpool.com:443` for gRPC and `https://mainnet.sui.rpcpool.com/graphql` for GraphQL. It is not for production traffic.
{% endhint %}
