# Solana overview

Triton's Solana products by workload: account reads, real-time streaming, historical data, transaction sending, trading APIs and dedicated nodes.

Triton is one of Solana's original validators, running since the testnet, and has provided Solana RPC since 2021.

## Start here

## Every subscription

* **Shred Streaming and Preconfirmations gRPC:** billed separately and enabled on request. See [Plans and billing](/account-and-billing/plans-and-billing.md).
* **Devnet and testnet:** free on every subscription.
* **Network support:** not every product runs on devnet or testnet. See [Networks we support](/readme.md#networks-we-support).
* **Limits:** set by your rate tier and raised at no extra cost. See [Rate and connection limits](/using-your-endpoint/rate-and-connection-limits.md).

## Reading account state

## Dedicated nodes

* Runs gRPC streaming for one network, in a region you choose.
* Isolated gRPC streaming capacity with its own rate tier.
* JSON-RPC stays on shared infrastructure.
* WebSocket connections run on Triton's shared servers by default.
* Custom setups such as DAS, indexing or history clusters are on request: [contact sales](https://triton.one/contact).

See [Dedicated nodes](/solana/dedicated-nodes.md).

## Open-source work

* **RPC 2.0:** a rebuild of Solana's read layer with the Solana Foundation, shipping in stages. Cloudbreak and Superbank are its live parts. See the [announcement](https://blog.triton.one/announcing-rpc-2-0-with-solana-foundation-rethinking-solanas-read-layer-from-the-ground-up/).
* **Yellowstone gRPC:** the open-source Geyser gRPC interface that Dragon's Mouth runs on. See [GitHub](https://github.com/rpcpool/yellowstone-grpc).
* **Old Faithful:** Solana's ledger history from genesis as CAR files anyone can download and verify. See [docs.old-faithful.net](https://docs.old-faithful.net).
* **Metaplex DAS API:** co-developed with Metaplex. Ingestion now runs on Yellowstone gRPC.
* **Shipstern:** open-source toolkit that parses Solana program data from a gRPC stream. See [How to use Shipstern + gRPC](/solana/quickstart/streaming/how-to-use-shipstern-grpc.md).
* **Thorofare:** open-source tool that benchmarks gRPC endpoints against each other. See [Benchmark gRPC endpoints with Thorofare](/solana/quickstart/streaming/benchmark-grpc-endpoints-with-thorofare.md).

## Need a chain we don't list?

We run validators and nodes on many networks and can set up dedicated infrastructure for others. [Contact sales](https://triton.one/contact).
