# getVersion (gRPC)

Returns the Yellowstone gRPC plugin version, build details, and hostname as a JSON string over Dragon's Mouth gRPC (geyser.Geyser/GetVersion).

## Result

**`version`** · string: A JSON document, encoded as a string. Parse it to read:

* **`version`** · object: the Geyser plugin build: `package` (`yellowstone-grpc-geyser`), `version` (plugin version), `proto` (`yellowstone-grpc-proto` version), `solana` (Solana validator version the plugin targets), `git` (source revision), `rustc` (compiler version), and `buildts` (build timestamp).
* **`extra`** · object: `hostname`, the name of the server that answered.
