# Slot updates

Stream slot status updates over Dragon's Mouth gRPC with a slots filter, including intra-slot statuses and dead slots via interslot\_updates.

## Filter

`SubscribeRequestFilterSlots`, keyed by a filter label:

**`filter_by_commitment`** · optional bool: Only deliver slots at the requested commitment.

**`interslot_updates`** · optional bool: Also deliver intra-slot statuses (first shred received, completed, bank created, dead). Without it, only processed, confirmed, and finalized updates arrive.

## Update

Each arrives as a `SubscribeUpdate` with `slot` set (`SubscribeUpdateSlot`):

**`slot`** · uint64: The slot number.

**`parent`** · optional uint64: Parent slot.

**`status`** · SlotStatus: `SLOT_PROCESSED`, `SLOT_CONFIRMED`, or `SLOT_FINALIZED`; with `interslot_updates` also `SLOT_FIRST_SHRED_RECEIVED`, `SLOT_COMPLETED`, `SLOT_CREATED_BANK`, or `SLOT_DEAD`.

**`dead_error`** · optional string: Reason, if the slot was marked dead.

**`bank_id`** · optional uint64: Bank instance the status belongs to. Not set for `SLOT_FIRST_SHRED_RECEIVED`, `SLOT_COMPLETED`, and `SLOT_DEAD`. `SLOT_CREATED_BANK` reports the ID of the new bank.
