# debug\_traceCall

Execute a call against a block and return execution traces using the given tracer.

## Parameters

| Parameter     | Type   | Required | Description                                                                                |
| ------------- | ------ | -------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ |
| `transaction` | object | Yes      | Transaction call object.                                                                   |
| `block`       | string | Yes      | Block number (hex), tag (`latest`, `safe`, `finalized`, `pending`) or 32-byte block hash.  |
| `tracer`      | object | No       | Tracer configuration object. Defaults to `callTracer`; `prestateTracer` is also supported. |

## Response

With `callTracer`, the call frame of the simulated call, including nested `calls`.
