Buying Transaction Bandwidth

Onboarding and Bidding for Cascade Marketplace

Our Cascade network includes an open marketplace where you can buy guaranteed transaction bandwidth. This allows your application to bypass congested public routes by using Solana's Stake-Weighted Quality of Service (SWQoS), ensuring more reliable transaction delivery.

How the Marketplace Works

The marketplace is an open order book designed to be fair and transparent, allowing demand to set a clear price for priority access.

  • Bidding Process The marketplace operates in an auction format for bandwidth in upcoming Solana epochs. When you participate, you place a bid for a specific amount of bandwidth, measured in Packets Per Second (PPS). Bidding in the current epoch (N) is for bandwidth that will be delivered in epoch N+2.

  • Floor Price Auction All successful bidders pay the same price—the "floor price." This is determined by the lowest winning bid from that auction round, ensuring a fair market-clearing price for all participants. Because all buyers pay the same price, all traffic within the network is treated equally.

  • Standing Bids Your bid is treated as a standing order and will automatically roll over to subsequent epochs. This ensures you don't risk missing a bid and losing your capacity. You can adjust or cancel your standing bid at any time for future epochs that have not yet started.

  • Bandwidth Overage Transactions sent through Cascade that exceed your purchased bandwidth limit will be dropped from the priority Cascade network and will fall back to being sent through traditional RPC routes.

Bidding Rules & Payment

  • Lot Size: Bids are placed in multiples of 10 PPS.

  • Minimum Bid: The current minimum bid is $2.50 per 10 PPS, per epoch.

  • Payment: Services are invoiced at the end of each month, with payments to be made in USD.

How to Participate: A Step-by-Step Guide

Here are the exact steps to get started with the Cascade Marketplace.

Step 1: Get Onboarded

To participate, you must have a Triton One account. If you're not already a customer, please contact Steve to set up an account and receive your anonymized ID for the order book.

Step 2: Place Your Bid

Bids are placed by messaging Steve directly via Telegram, Slack, or email. You will need to provide two values for your bid:

  1. The quantity of bandwidth you want (in PPS).

  2. Your bid price (in USD).

Step 3: Configure Your Transactions

Once your bid is successful and your bandwidth becomes available for an epoch, ensure your application is configured to take full advantage of the Cascade network. Following our best practices is critical for performance. → Read our Transaction Sending Advice

Step 4: Monitor and Adjust

You can view the public order book at any time to see the current market state. To adjust or cancel your standing bid for future epochs, simply contact Steve again. → View the Public Order Book

Step 5: Monthly Payment

At the end of each month, Triton One will send an invoice for the bandwidth you have used, which is payable in USD.
